Rules and Regulations

The Wallkill Valley Cemetery operates under the provisions of Article 15 of the New York State Not-For-Profit Corporation Law. We are not-for-profit and non-sectarian, serving people of all faiths. When you purchase a plot or single grave and plan for your memorial needs, you are purchasing the right of interment in that space. A percentage of the purchase price goes into our Permanent Maintenance Fund, which will ensure that the cemetery is soundly operated and will maintain its function as a natural sanctuary for the memories of our loved ones and for our own heritage. The Certificate of Ownership to your plot is an important document that should be kept accessible for easy reference. We hope that you will familiarize yourself with the Rules & Regulations as they apply to your purchase.
