About Our Cemetery

The historic Wallkill Valley Cemetery, nestled in the heart of the Wallkill River Valley in Walden, New York, has been a place of rest and reflection since its incorporation in 1865. Renowned landscape architect Downing Vaux was commissioned to design this picturesque, park-like sanctuary for the community. Today, it stands as one of the most beautiful and serene cemeteries in the state.

Towering monuments mark the resting places of notable figures, including United States Representative Thomas W. Bradley, who rests beneath one of the tallest private monuments in the nation. Hand-carved granite towers rise from lush green hills, while immense trees and winding roads invite visitors to a tranquil escape.

Our meticulously maintained grounds and dedicated staff reflect our commitment to preserving this historic property, continuing to serve our community with the same care we have provided for over 159 years.
